2010 Antinori, Solaia, IGT
The 2010 Solaia is a blend of 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Sangiovese and 5% Cabernet. This is a beautiful vintage for Solaia which is only produced when the conditions are excellent. The fruit is particularly marked by warm days and cool nights, enhancing the aromatics and freshness in the wine. Historical data Solaia, a twenty hectare (50 acre) vineyard of the Tignanello estate with a southwestern exposure, is situated at 350-400 meters (1175-1325 feet) above sea level on a soil of calcareous rock (known as "alberese in Tuscany). The Marchesi Antinori firm produced this wine for the first time in the 1978 vintage with an initial blend of 80% Cabernet Sauvignon and 20% Cabernet Franc, a blend repeated again in 1979. In the following vintages 20% of Sangiovese was added to the Cabernet grapes and the ratio of Cabernet Franc to Cabernet Sauvignon was changed in order to create a wine which has now become definitive in its various composing elements. 2020 Blanc Sec de Suduiraut
The original name was Ch d’Allard, the name of the family who owned the property from 1580 until the end of the century. In the 1660s, Blaise de Suduiraut gave the estate his name. He also used the King’s gardener Le Notre for the grounds (they keep the same shape nowadays)
The vineyards are located at the foot of Yquem hill. 25% of the production is made as a dry wine, Blend of 75% Sauvignon Blanc for the freshness and acidity, topped up with 25% of Semillon for the aromatics and texture.

2021 BLANKbottle, The Spaniard, Western Cape
Blankbottle is owned by Pieter Walser, one of the most creative winemakers. He doesn’t own any vineyards but instead he searches every corner of South Africa for grapes. Now, he has a close relationship with farmers from 70 plots and manages to make over 20 wines from 35 grape varieties. Every wine from Pieter tells a real story.
Cutting a long story short, Pieter Walser very much likes native Spanish grapes such as Mourvedre, Garnacha, Carignan, Cinsault and others. In 2007 he started to produce a wine with only Mourvedre grapes, this Mourvedre grows from a beautiful little bush vine system in Swartland vineyard - planted in pure rugged Schist in the Riebeeck mountains.
Pieter was restricted to buying 1 ton of fruit, which meant only 3 barrels of wine were produced in 2021. Thirty percent of the wine was aged in new oak barrels, producing soft, juicy roundness.
The annual production of this cuvee is only 1373 bottles.

Madame Bollinger was a skeptic towards rose Champagne and would only permit its production if it were truly excellent. Naturally the winemakers at Bollinger retrieved this thrown gauntlet and crafted a wine she would be proud of! This exquisite wine is a blend of 67% Pinot Noir, 28% Chardonnay and 5% Cote aux Enfants red wines. These wines, first created by Madame Bollinger in 1967, are aged on their lees for many years and intended to be drunk very soon after disgorgement in order to enjoy its freshness! This being said, Bollinger R.D. wines have remarkable aging potential. The crisp freshness is accentuated by the low dosage, ultimately containing between three and four grams of sugar per litre.
