Bright and concentrated garnet colour. Expressive and complex nose of strawberries, spices and cocoa, confirmed by a typical Grenache palate. Velvety tannins and melted notes of prune, cherry in brandy, long on a remarkable freshness.
Perfect with a rich stew or game.

1989 Jasmin, Cote Rotie, Giroflarie
Patrick Jasmin comes from a family of winegrowers, making him the fourth generation to do so. Since 1978, he has been expertly running a vineyard that spans over 6 hectares in Ampuis, which is famous for producing the best Côte-Rôtie wines.

Syrah makes up 95% of the acreage, while Viognier accounts for the remaining 5%. Patrick Jasmin is dedicated to sustainable viticulture, emphasizing minimal interventions and low yields.

He chooses to perform all tasks manually on the challenging hillside terrain. He vinifies grapes in individual plots, allowing for minimal intervention in the process. Patrick Jasmin's wines are known to exhibit aromatic finesse rather than raw power.

His wines are taut, elegant, and supple, with unique characters that reflect the terroir. The elevage process is light and spans over 24 months. The wines are excellent when consumed young but also possess exceptional aging potential.

2000 M. Chapoutier, Chateauneuf-du-Pape, Barbe Rac
VM93RP95
This vineyard is littered with the famous ‘galets’ or pudding stones characteristic of the area, but in reality the subsoil if far more important – the quaternary terrace has a complex and varied mixture of red clay and ferruginous sand. The vines are very old (approximately 90 years old). This unique hilltop vineyard West of the village of Châteauneuf-du-Pape makes some of the silkiest and most elegant wines in the region. The biodynamic viticulture ensures low yields (15-20 hl/ha) which are necessary to create a pure and intense Grenache wine. The wine is ample, fleshy, hot and round. It has an outstanding density with an impressive length.

2008 M. Chapoutier, Cote Rotie, La Mordoree
VM89RP89JR16.5
An old told legend, belonging to Côte-Rotie related the story of the seigneur de Maugiron who having two daughters, one blond and the other dark haired, bequeathed a hillside to each one of them. And thus were born the names of " Côte-Blonde " and " Côte-Brune. " Côte-Rotie La Mordoree is made from 100% Syrah and is located on the border of the "Côte Blonde". The soil is composed of chlorite and ferruginous mica-schists blending in loess depressions and earth veins. In the winemaking process, the grapes are entirely destemmed and vinified in concrete tanks. The temperature of vinification does not exceed 32°C and only the free-run juice is used. The wine is entirely aged in oak casks (225 litres), with a proportion of new ones between 14 and 18 months.

Grapes producing "Le Méal" come from the Méal hillside. This is an old fluvioglacial alluvial deposit soil with large pebbles which contribute to the soil warming. The vines (more than 50 years old) produce very low yields and guarantee high quality. On the palate, this wine is ample and round, with a fine exotic freshness and hints of roasted almonds.
