Coppersea Rye 3 Year Old – Batch 1 (That Boutique-y Whisky Company)
A new rye from That Boutique-y Whisky Company, distilled at Coppersea distillery in Hudson Valley, New York, with a small outturn of just 200 bottles for their first batch. At Coppersea they stick to doing things traditionally, using direct fired stills, open top fermentation and they even have their own floor maltings. They are a true grain-to-glass farm distillery, using only heirloom varietals of rye, corn and barley, which are harvested from selected farms in the Hudson Valley. Bottled at 49.8% ABV (99.6 proof), expect notes of cinnamon buns, rye bread, and a lovely lingering spice.

That Boutique-y Whisky Company are always keenly searching for new and exciting distilleries to bottle under their celebrated brand. For the first time ever, Boutique-y have welcomed Pennsylvania's Dad's Hat distillery to the family, with an impressive 6 year old rye whiskey. The distillery focus on producing a traditional Pennsylanian rye, using a mash bill of 80% rye, 15% malted barley, and 5% malt rye, resulting in a thick and indulgent array of maraschino cherry in dark chocolate, peppered with spice and exhibiting a creamy texture, back up by a whopping 64% abv. Great stuff, and just 289 bottles worldwide.

Chicago's FEW Distillery are known for trying their hands at a host of different craft spirits, including pretty cracking bourbons and ryes. That Boutique-y Whisky Company have always had an eye for spotting exciting distilleries to add to their ever-expanding portfolio, with this release marking the 5th batch of FEW Rye whiskey to be bottled. Clocking in at a hearty 63.6% abv, this six year old rye goes a long way with a bit of water, belting out notes of tobacco, baking spice and chewy rye bread, with an overtone of roasted coffee and dark chocolate. Just 398 bottles were produced in Batch 5.

The bourbon whiskey was matured in barrels made up of a tighter grain called Minnesota oak, before being bottled at 46.5% ABV (91 Proof). The story behind FEW spirits goes back to the city of Evanston in the United States of America, where the distillery is in action today after pulling through the hit from prohibition for many years. FEW also takes it’s name from the initials of an iconic women in the era of the temperance movement, Frances Elizabeth Willard.

Few Cold Cut Bourbon
Few have taken their excellent cask strength bourbon and cut the whiskey with cold brew coffee - as opposed to the usual method of using water - to bring it down to 46.5% ABV. The result is something quite unique, with notes of roasted coffee, cinnamon and layers of chocolate. If you're a fan of both bourbon and coffee, Few Cold Cut Bourbon is a must-try. It also makes a rather bold Manhattan.
