Scotch Whisky
The first written evidence of distillation in Scotland was recorded in 1494, though it is widely accepted that it was practiced long before. There are six regional styles of Scotch as well as various practices of blending and single-distillery whiskies, such as the ubiquitous Blended Scotch and Single Malt categories, creating unparalleled depth. The country is perhaps the most synonymous with whisky worldwide and a beacon of inspiration for many producers overseas.
