2019 Distant Noises, Cabernet Sauvignon, Yarra Valley
Award-winning Australian winemaker Tom Carson has produced something rather special at this price point; the fruit is sourced from the Yarra Valley, and there are the hallmark attributes for this grape – aromas of blackcurrant, sweet spice and herbaceous notes.
However, unlike many full-bodied versions of Cabernet Sauvignon found in New World wines, this is a little lighter, with velvety tannins and great depth of flavour.

This is a wine with poise and elegance, punching way above its weight!

Four Pillars Olive Leaf Gin
It's no secret that olives and gin are a match made in heaven, so why not infuse the two together? Well, thankfully Australia's Four Pillars Distillery have already had this very epiphany. The Four Pillars' Olive Leaf gin was inspired when the team witnessed an olive harvest, leading them to infuse their gin with olive oil and olive leaves, as well as a host of other botanicals, including lemon, grapefruit, rosemary, bay leaf, coriander, and more! This is a belting martini waiting to happen.

2014 Frankland Estate Riesling Isolation Ridge Vineyard
“A wine that has now become so consistently great, it is a liquid tribute to the dedication of the Cullam family, to their vineyard and winemaking; this 2014 is no exception. The nose is reminiscent of lime juice on crushed rocks and for a Riesling lover that is basically aromatic nirvana - there are some gentle florals and a spicy edge too. The palate has deep-set power and striking purity; it draws deep and then fires like an arrow in a straight lime-drenched line of tangy citrus flavour, holding long, nailing the target. Exhilarating now, this will age for more than a decade without raising a sweat. “ (2/2016)

2020 Jeanneret Rank & File Shiraz
Very darkly and vibrantly coloured, the 2021 Rank & File Shiraz has the most beautiful nose featuring generous quantities of wonderfully intense blackberry and blackcurrant woven together with dark, inviting spice. And there's a creamy character to the fruit on the nose which makes it so, so inviting and, frankly, irresistible. That character continues onto the palate, which together with an absolute ton of ripe, delicious, dark fruit make it utterly delicious. Probably as pleasurable and downright hedonistic as any wine should be. Firm tannins give structure and length and gently remind you that there's a serious side to this pleasure bomb. And amid all this generosity, there's a lovely zesty energy to the fruit too. Lovely to get lost in just on its own but excellent with food; try chargrilled anything or big-flavour something.

Morris Signature Single Malt Whisky
The Morris distillery has long been a cornerstone of Australian whisky, ever since first accepting delivery of a hybrid copper pot and column still in the 1930s. Originally a winery established in 1859, the continued dual operation of the Morris estate creates a rather convenient symbiosis, leaving a glut of freshly emptied wine casks for the distillery to use in the maturation of their whisky. The Signature Single Malt is, as the name suggests, the house style of the distillery, matured in fortified wine casks for a pronounced spice and dark fruit, whilst retaining notes of malt biscuits and orchard fruit from the fermentation.

2018 Penfolds, Bin 128 Shiraz, Coonawarra
VM93RP91JR16+
With each vintage release the cool-climate Bin 128 Coonawarra Shiraz provides an interesting counterpoint to the more opulent and richly concentrated warm climate Kalimna Bin 28 Shiraz. Bin 128 comprises fruit sourced from the unique terra rossa soils of Coonawarra, a region that exemplifies the perfume, transparency and seductive nature of cool-climate red table wines. Coonawarra has remained the source of shiraz fruit for Bin 128 since the inaugural release of the 1962 vintage. In order to further enhance the regional qualities of Bin 128, the wine is matured in a mixture of new and seasoned French oak hogsheads, élevage that was refined during the 1980’s when the transition was made from American to French oak.
