Producer Profile
Château Duhart-Milon
Château Duhart-Milon is a Fourth Growth estate located within the commune of Pauillac, on Bordeaux’s left bank. The estate is owned by Domaines Baron de Rothschild, and this particular estate also borders Chateau Lafite Rothschild.
The vines of Duhart-Milon come from a slightly cooler terroir than Lafite, with the same fine gravels and black sands, but at a lower elevation and with a more northerly exposure. This leads to the more robust, earthy style which they are renowned for.
The wine typically uses at least 75% Cabernet Sauvignon in the blend, with the remainder Merlot. Their first wine spends an average of 14 months in oak, 50% new. The wine shows refined tannins, richness and great ageing-potential.
