Producer Profile
Château Grand-Puy-Lacoste
Château Grand-Puy-Lacoste is a renowned estate located within the appellation of Pauillac, on Bordeaux’s left bank. They were classified as a Fifth Growth estate in the notorious 1855 Bordeaux Classification, and their reputation has only improved since then. They are recognised for their marvellous wines with power and precision. They are Pauillac at their very best.
Grand-Puy-Lacoste is one of the oldest properties in the Medoc, with history dating back to the middle ages. Today it is in the hands of the Borie family, after Jean-Eugene Borie purchased it in 1978. It has since been passed down to Emeline Borie, who is responsible for the day to day running of the property.
The estate has 90 hectares under vine, planted to 75% Cabernet Sauvignon and 25% Merlot atop deep gravel beds over limestone. Their vines are in one single block which surrounds the historic Chateau.
