Producer Profile
Domaine Anne-Francoise Gros
In 1998 the marriage of François Parent and Anne-Françoise Gros combined two family dynasties. The Parents of Pommard and the Gros estates in Vosne Romanée created this superb ten-hectare estate under the AF Gros label, comprising some of the finest terroirs across the Côte d’Or. Today the domaine is in the very secure hands of their two children: Caroline runs the commercial side and Mathias is responsible for the vineyards and winemaking.
The estate, which has been in the Gros family for generations, produces wines that are revered for their elegance and depth. Anne-Françoise’s meticulous attention to detail in the vineyard and cellar ensures that each bottle expresses the unique characteristics of the terroir. These wines are not just to be consumed — they are to be experienced, offering layers of complexity that unfold with time.
The domain owns and manages vineyards covering approximately 10 hectares in various appellations within Burgundy. The vineyards are primarily located in Vosne-Romanée, Nuits-Saint-Georges, and Chambolle-Musigny. These vineyard sites are known for producing some of the finest Pinot Noir wines in Burgundy.
There has been a sorting table since 2008, after which the grapes are destemmed but not crushed. The grapes are given a short cool maceration, then fermented with more pumping over than punching down, with the juice being concentrated by a similar machine to that used by Michel and Bernard Gros, if necessary.
Anne Gros has garnered an excellent reputation, centred on the philosophy of crafting wines which marry tradition and modernity.
