Joseph Drouhin
Maison Joseph Drouhin is one of burgundy’s most renowned and historic wineries, with a legacy dating back to 1880. The winery is now managed by the 4th generation of the family. They are recognised for their commitment to quality and tradition.
The house is renowned for their exceptional Pinot Noir and Chardonnay – some of their most revered wines include Clos des Mouches, Musigny, and Chassange-Montrachet Marquis de Laguiche. Being one of the largest producers in Burgundy, comprising of 80 hectares, they produce an expansive, quality portfolio. Out of this, 38 hectares are in Chablis, 38.5 in Cote de Nuits and Cote de Beaune, as well as 3.5 hectares found in the Cote Chalonnaise.
At this estate, organic and biodynamic winemaking practices are followed, to ensure that the wine reflects the true character of the terroirs where they are grown. No synthetic products are used in the vineyards here. Instead, natural predators and herb infusions are used to process the grapes naturally. At the vineyards of this estate, vines are planted densely. Close to 5000 vines are planted per acre, so that the plants get the maximum benefits of each type of soil where they are grown.
