Producer Profile
Benoît Roseau
Although Benoît grew up in the Northern Rhône and his family has a history of grape growing in other parts of Europe, he has literally created his domaine from the ground up. From converting a sheep shelter into a cellar, to planting vineyards at the Coteau de Tupin in Côte-Rôtie and around his family's home in Pélussin, Benoît is truly building every piece of his domaine.
His vineyards are managed organically and biodynamically, as he is committed not only to sustainability, but to producing expressive, terroir-driven wines. His grapes are foot-trodden, and fermented with native yeasts, demonstrating his tradition and precision.
Though he is forward thinking – his wines are traditional in style, and a nod to the great Rhone wines of the past. We are proud to work with them.
"Benoît makes fine, measured wines with great clarity and sense of place. He has achieved a great deal since he struck out in 2010; this is a domaine to watch." - Matt Walls, Decanter
