Domaine Lafond
Domaine Lafond are a historic producer, based in Tavel on the west of the river. They have been growing grapes in the region since 1780, and have since expanded and continued their tradition into generations of wine production. They now produce wine in Tavel, Lirac and Châteauneuf-du-Pape.
The modern estate was founded in 1970 by Jean-Pierre Lafond, who built the cellars, expanded their holdings, he named part of the estate ‘Roc-Epine’ after his favourite racehorse “Roquepine”. His son Pascal later joined the business, and they first released wine under their own name in 1978. By 2001 they began producing in the prestigious Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Today the estate spans 74 hectares across the Southern part of the Rhome Valley.
Their wines are celebrated for their freshness, concentration of fruit, and elegance. They grow a wide range of varieties including Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre, Carignan, Roussanne and Viognier – all classic Rhone grape varieties. We are proud to work closely with Domaine Lafond, and to offer a wide range of their wines, all purchased directly from the estate.
