Producer Profile
Cantina Orsogna
Cantina Orsogna is a historic Italian wine cooperative located in the Abruzzo region of central Italy, near the Majella National Park and the Adriatic coast. Founded in the 1960s by a small group of local growers, it has grown into a large community of hundreds of winegrowing families farming extensive vineyard land, the majority of which is certified organic, with a significant portion farmed biodynamically.
The estate is widely known for its strong commitment to environmental sustainability and low-intervention viticulture. The combination of mountain influences, coastal breezes, and pronounced day–night temperature shifts creates ideal conditions for balanced, expressive wines. Cantina Orsogna emphasizes biodiversity, soil health, and traditional farming methods, aiming to preserve the natural character of its terroir.
They produce a diverse range of wines, focusing on native Abruzzo grape varieties such as Montepulciano d’Abruzzo, Trebbiano d’Abruzzo, Pecorino, and Cococciola. Its portfolio spans everyday wines to more distinctive organic and biodynamic selections, many of which are exported internationally and recognized for their authenticity, purity, and sense of place.
