Octomore Edition 17.2 – 5 Year Old Scottish Barley

Edition 17.2 Is a compelling second step in the 17 Series journey, a double wood maturation of super heavily peated single malt. Matured in French oak cask that aged Californian red wine, then bourbon before Octomore. Strawberry, blackberry and cassis notes meld with a steadily building peat smoke. Peppery and earthy, lemon zest and lime oils provide brightness.

Finished in first-fill Port barriques, the port influence amplifies fruit and spice while allowing the barley and peat to remain present. Less overt smoke on the nose. yet profoundly smoky in structure, this Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky is rich, vibrant and beautifully composed.
