Dalmore 25 Year Old
Dalmore enjoy an extra level of extravagance when it comes to the maturation of their whisky; the 25 is another great example of this, with the whisky first maturing in refill American white oak casks before a second maturation across a mix of first fill ex-bourbon casks and Palomino Fino Sherry butts. Not content with a mere three casks utilised, the whisky was then married in bourbon casks before enjoying a fifth and final maturation in ex-Tawny Port pipes. Suffice it to say, the result is an utterly complex and indulgent experience, encapsulating a subtlety from each cask to present a delicate spongecake with figs and damson, before chocolate, balsamic and orange peel. Sweety and spicy with lingering biscuit dessert notes.

This rather proud and noble-looking bottle and presentation case holds precious 30-year-matured Dalmore whisky. The 2022 edition was initially matured in ex-bourbon barrels before a finishing period in Graham's 1982 Single Harvest Tawny Port pipes. A rich and luxurious experience of Maraschino cherries, blackcurrant cheesecake and raspberry trifle developing into notes of Madeira cake and vanilla pods.

Dalmore Cigar Malt
The Dalmore Cigar Malt Reserve benefits from a judicious selection of aged stocks drawn from casks of three types: American white oak ex-bourbon casks, 30-year-old Matusalem oloroso sherry butts and premier cru Cabernet Sauvignon wine barriques. The previous cigar Malt was discontinued in 2009 causing unhappiness to many fellow whisky drinkers. However we finally witnessed the return of this beauty, featuring whisky from slightly older casks, hence the slight increase on the price tag. Bottled at 44% alcohol by volume, the body, structure and character of this extraordinary expression is the perfect complement to a fine cigar.

Dalmore 45 Year Old 40 (2022 Release)
A seriously old expression from the Dalmore distillery. The whisky for this 45-year-old single malt was initially matured in American white oak ex-bourbon casks, before being transferred into Cabernet Sauvignon barriques. The contents were then transferred back into ex-bourbon casks before once more being transferred, this time to Tawny port pipes. Thought that was enough? Think again. The whisky then enjoyed two further maturations, ex-bourbon initially and then aged Port Colheita pipes. Needless to say, this is an absurdly complex and intriguing dram, boasting age, craft, and a ludicrous array of high-quality casks.
