2018 Gevrey Chambertin Joseph Drouhin
This Gevrey-Chambertin is a wine with a beautiful, bright ruby colour. Intensely fruity on the nose, the aromas are reminiscent of black cherry, wild blackberry and liquorice. The woody character is subtle and marries delicately with the other aromas. As the wine evolves, there are more complex notes, such as mild spice, nutmeg and leather. Later still, mushroom and damp earth nuances make their appearance. Although present on the palate, tannin is never astringent but blends itself harmoniously with the natural freshness and velvety texture of the wine.
An ideal match for a rich hearty stew or indeed any red meat.

2017 Saint Romain Blanc Joseph Drouhin
With 80 hectares distributed across Burgundy, the Domaine is one of the largest in the region. Today it is run by 4th generation of the Drouhin family.
The Saint-Romain vineyard is situated 400 metres above sea level on clay-limestone soil and is one of the highest in the area.
Following gentle pressing, the wine is barrel aged for 6-8 months using 20% new oak.

"A wine of great typicity, which makes its terroir speak... Very fine aromas of white flowers (honeysuckle) and ripe fruit (mirabelle plums), evolving towards notes of honey and gingerbread. The attack is lively and fresh, followed by roundness. The "pebble" mineral tone gives the marked character of Saint-Romain.

Vintage  2017 expresses all the elegance of our white grape varieties. The wines are floral with citrus notes. Round, very balanced, they are attractive. A very good vintage.”
