Calvados
Calvados is a spirit produced from distilling cider, made in Normandy. A whole variety of apples can be used to produce a single Calvados, often both bitter and sweet to gain a balanced outcome. The spirit is aged for a minimum of two years before being bottled, usually stated Trois Etoiles or Trois Pommes. If it's aged for four years you'll see VO or VSOP on the label, and if aged for 6 years or more this a called Hors d'Age.
