2022 Chateau de Plaisance, Anjou, L’Anjou Blanc
100% dry Chenin.
Crisp green apples are balance by a creaminess from malolactic fermentation and the natural richness of Chenin, while the stainless steel allows the explosive acidity to turn the wine up a notch.
Pairs well with salad, tomato linguine, or seafood.

2019 Chateau de Plaisance, Anjou, Sur la Butte
This is the first vintage from Vanessa Cherruau, who has excelled herself from the off. The vineyard is called “Sur la Butte” and lies on schist soil. The grapes (30% Cabernet franc and 70% Cabernet Sauvignon) are manually harvested and 100% destemmed. The vinification process started with indigenous yeasts in stainless steel vats and at the final stage, the wine is aged in concrete vats.

Buttery and creamy on the nose with a lovely dose of oak giving honeycomb and caramel notes to the green apple and peach fruit. Lovely precise acidity and chalky texture. Long, bright, flavoursome and characterful. Starting to show some attractive development on the finish too.

2021 Chateau de Plaisance, Anjou, L’Anjou Blanc
Located in the Anjou district in the western Loire Valley, the 25 hectare estate consists of plots within either Grand Cru Quarts de Chaume, Premier Cru Chaume or Savennières. Organic since 1995 and biodynamic since 2008, Plaisance was taken over by Vanessa Cherruau in 2019.

The ‘Chaume’ and ‘Quarts de Chaume’ appelations are for sweet wines only, but as Vanessa wanted to produce dry Chenin Blanc wines Château de Plaisance wines are deliberately declassified to simple ‘Anjou Blanc’.

The resulting wine is outstanding, possessing extraordinary texture and depth of flavour, with aromas of peach and nectarine with a twist of citrus, maintaining an exquisite balance between fruit and acidity and a lengthy finish.
