1999 Carpineto, Brunello di Montalcino
Established in 1967 in the quaint town of Dudda, situated in the municipality of Greve in Chianti, Carpineto was founded by the Sacchet and Zaccheo families, who continue to oversee its operations today.

Carpineto practices sustainable and carbon-neutral farming across 500 hectares of estate land spread across five historic areas in Tuscany.
The encompassing forests, olive groves, and vineyards absorb 26 percent more carbon than that which is emitted during their production processes.

Although Brunello di Montalcino experiences a moderately Mediterranean climate due to its proximity to the sea just 30km away, the elevated vineyards contribute to a significant diurnal temperature variation, featuring hot days and cool nights. This climatic characteristic benefits the grapes by preserving acidity levels and prolonging their ripening period. Additionally, the influential tramontana wind plays a crucial role in drying and concentrating the fruit.

The resulting wines (100% Sangiovese) are invariably bold and long-lived.

2009 Cordella Brunello di Montalcino DOCG
In 1998 Orlando Cordella, transferred part of the bigger family estate to his daughter, Maddalena.

In 2010, the state-of-the-art winery, the home of Brunello Cordella, was constructed. Approximately 9 hectares of meticulously tended vineyards are now dedicated to winemaking. The grapes undergo comprehensive testing and modern agronomic techniques, drawing on Maddalena's father's expertise, while expert oenologists handle the actual winemaking process.

Maddalena chose to distinguish her wine and other products from the estate with her last name. This decision reflects the deep affection and passion connecting her to both her family and the surrounding territory.

Maddalena's philosophical approach to managing the estate, characterized by making precise and targeted choices in both the vineyards and cellars, is what allows her to produce a sought-after, high-quality product admired by connoisseurs.

Comprising 100% Sangiovese Grosso, all vineyard tasks are carried out by hand. This includes trimming, pruning, pinching out, green pruning, thinning, meticulous bunch selection before the grapes mature, and finally, the harvest.

Grapes are entirely organically grown - Organic farming at Cordella is certified by ICEA.
Winemaking:
Grapes are carefully selected, destemmed & soft-pressed.
There follows a 15 day maceration with frequent pump over & délestage to extract optimum colour complexity and tannins.
After temperature controlled alcoholic fermentation, malolactic fermentation completes by the end of the year.
Ageing takes place in 25Hl oak barrels and lasts 24 months.
The nose is rich, intricate, and concentrated, featuring ripe red fruit flavours with subtle notes of liquorice, spices, and coffee beans. The palate is elegant and well-balanced.

2010 Castelgiocondo (Frescobaldi), Brunello di Montalcino
RP94
Aromas of warm stones, dark fruits and walnuts follow to a full body, soft tannins and a savoury finish. This shows ripe fruit and salty undertones that give it a wonderful juiciness. It's dense and tight now but will give so much pleasure in the future. Best ever from here. Drink or hold.

2010 Biondi-Santi, Brunello di Montalcino
JR18
The 2010 Brunello was aged in Slavonian oak barrels for 3 years. It benefited from a long refinement in the bottle.
This radiant wine is loaded with finesse, opening with an alluring fragrance of rose, violet and a whiff of pressed powder. The firm, linear palate offers bright cherry, crushed red berry, white pepper and a hint of tobacco alongside a backbone of fine-grained tannins and bright acidity. It's impeccably balanced but youthfully austere and needs to open up

2010 Tenuta Luce Brunello di Montalcino
RP93
Dark garnet red in colour, Luce Brunello 2010 boasts a bouquet that is elegant and refined, yet remarkably dense, releasing a complex mosaic of sweet violet, blueberry, blackcurrant, and black liquorice, accompanied by pungent impressions of rosemary blossoms. Subtle notes of toasted oak crown this rich aromatic display. That same elegance is in full evidence on the palate, complemented by impressive depth and a masterfully crafted structure. Velvety tannins offer perfect support during the wine’s progression into a very lengthy finish.
