2003 Montus, Madiran
Alain Brumont is a top, respected producer in the area. Made with Tannat grape dominance and an addition of Cabernet Sauvignon. Maceration for 3 to 6 weeks. Fermentation at 28°C, punching down of the pomace cap. Maturing in French oak barrels for 12-14 months (60-80% new). It is a deep wine, subtle notes of dark ripe fruits coulis, earthy, dry leaves, mushrooms, light spicy notes. Fine tannins, controlled oak barrel ageing, well balanced, elegant and a persistent finish.
