Intense, elegant and vibrant, Mediterranean and blackcurrant notes, with a fresh and savoury finish. Extremely enjoyable.

Crafted from 20 year old vines of Cabernet Sauvignon with a small proportion of Cabernet Franc, this wine is robust yet elegant, serving as the Estate's paramount "Cru." It stands as a pure embodiment of the Maremma terroir.

Grape varieties: 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Cabernet Franc
Harvest: Hand-picked from August 26th (Cabernet Franc), September 7th (Cabernet Sauvignon)
Ageing: 18 months in small French oak barrels (225 lt / 70% new)
Ageing potential: Over 20 years

Full-bodied and seductive with aromas and flavours of dark fruits, (blackcurrant, black cherry) sweet spice (cinnamon, cedar wood) dark chocolate and vanilla. The tannins are silky ii texture and the finish is long and satisfying.

Food pairing suggestions: Cured meats, steaks, mildly spicy foods, mature cheeses.

After 18 months of barrel ageing, strawberry compote and raspberry are evident on the nose. Vanilla, heath and dried herbs are evident with aeration. The palate is powerful and structured, with creaminess. At the core, it is concentrated and juicy with powdery, firm tannins that provide the perfect balance to the structure.
