2015 Jean Leon, Penedes, Vinya Scala Gran Reserva
In 2008, the Jean Leon winery began applying organic farming methods; from the 2012 vintage onwards, all of their wines have been labelled as certified organic. Jean Leon entrusted his legacy to the Torres family in 1994 and since then the winery has stayed true to the philosophy of its founder and kept fighting tirelessly for his dreams.

Made from a single vineyard called Vinya La Scala in the heart of Penedes, these 8 hectares on calcareous clay soils produce a 100% Cabernet Sauvignon grape wine.
After a hand harvest the grapes are fermented in the stainless-steel vats at a controlled temperature for around 18 days. The final wine ages in French oak barrels for 24 months, followed by a bottle ageing for at least three years in the cellar.

Tasting note:

2021 Torres, Clos Ancestral, Penedes
Familia Torres have been committed to the recovery of ancestral varieties to help restore the viticultural heritage of Catalonia while seeking solutions to combat climate change. The ancestral variety Moneu, which is highly resistant to high temperatures and drought has been added to a blend of the light and Tempranillo and Garnacha to create a light and fragrant red wine.
It has a delicate nose of fine florals, red fruits and jam. It is light as it evolves across the palate.

2020 Nadal, Penedes, Xarel Lo
Made from a local grape, the Xarel-lo wine has some citrus characters with vibrant acidity.
The grapes are harvested from different areas of the Penede`s region. The fermentation process takes place in stainless-steel vats for 12 days.
The wine is then aged in vats with contact of the lees, giving the final wine an extra level of complexity.

Since the early 1980s, the Torres family have been committed to the recovery of ancestral varieties to help restore the viticultural heritage of Catalonia, while seeking solutions to combat climate change. In this cuvee, Moneu (an ancestral indigenous variety) makes up a third of the blend, completed by Tempranillo and Garnacha.
Approximately 50% of the wine is fermented in second-fill barrels for 10 months, the rest in stainless steel. The Moneu variety is partially aged in vats and amphorae.
