2020 Mazzei (Belguardo), Codice V Vermentino, Toscana
This Vermentino Cru is the outcome of an extensive research project, both in the vineyard and the cellar, crafted using two clones sourced from Corsica and two from Sardinia. Belguardo V encapsulates the most distinguished characteristics of Vermentino: complexity, salinity, minerality, and longevity.
The result is a mineral-rich wine with a robust and pleasing structure that is typical of the varietal. This wine pairs exceptionally well with dishes traditionally associated with red wine: savoury fish, white meat, risotto, and porcini mushrooms.

2022 Guidalberto, Tenuta San Guido, Toscana
Wonderfully evocative of Bolgheri’s prized terroir, Guidalberto shows what is possible when Merlot’s seductive fruit complements Cabernet Sauvignon’s tannic structure. Whilst the 2022 vintage was hot and yields are correspondingly low, grapes from the estate’s hillside vineyards provided an excellent balance of ripe fruit, refreshing acidity, and moderate alcohol. A triumph in a hot vintage, Guidalberto is lovely now, but give it 3-5 years in the cellar and you will be rewarded.
With a 60% Cabernet Sauvignon and 40% Merlot blend, this wine offers an approachable and fruit-forward expression of the Tenuta San Guido terroir. With merlot-led aromas, it leans on Cabernet to ensure graceful ageing.

2022 Le Difese, Tenuta San Guido, Toscana
A full-bodied red with Bordeaux style and Tuscan soul. This is a wine that is enjoyable in its youth, yet has the substance and complexity to be able to age in the cellar.
This Cabernet Sauvignon and Sangiovese blend has taken on a slightly different identity in recent years, with Sangiovese dominating. A fruit-forward, suave and fantastically drinkable red.
Ripe strawberry and pomegranate notes waft from the glass with spicy liquorice and clove aromas unfolding on the palate. Supple and juicy, it is just thing for everyday Tuscan fare.

2021 Le Volte dell’Ornellaia, Toscana
Established in 1981, and owned by the Frescobaldi family whose history in winemaking dates back over 700 years, tradition and modern wine making techniques go hand in hand.

The soil at Ornellaia originates from marine, alluvial, and volcanic sources. The vineyards are divided into numerous parcels, each functioning as a microcosm with its distinct identity and expression.

Le Volte dell’Ornellaia displays lively red fruit aromas with a touch of spiciness. The structure of the wine is nicely balanced with enough acidity and smooth tannins blending well with the fruit.

Blend: Cabernet Sauvignon, Sangiovese and Merlot.

The different varietals were fermented separately in small steel tanks to maintain their varietal characteristics. The wine was then aged for 10 months, partly in used barriques and partly in concrete tanks, to enable the winemaker to obtain the optimum balance of the final blend.
