2021 Soumah, Single Vineyard Wild Savagnin, Yarra Valley
Located to the East of Melbourne, in Victoria, is the wine region of Yarra Valley. It has one of the lowest mean January temperatures of the Victorian wine regions, which makes it ideal for the Savagnin varietal (not Sauvignon!)

It generally produces dry white wines with good acidity, displaying floral and orange/citrus aromas, following through with zingy lemon and lime flavours. This example was also aged on the lees to enhance the texture.
Perfect with fried seafood, or maybe a goat’s cheese salad.

2019 Distant Noises, Cabernet Sauvignon, Yarra Valley
Award-winning Australian winemaker Tom Carson has produced something rather special at this price point; the fruit is sourced from the Yarra Valley, and there are the hallmark attributes for this grape – aromas of blackcurrant, sweet spice and herbaceous notes.
However, unlike many full-bodied versions of Cabernet Sauvignon found in New World wines, this is a little lighter, with velvety tannins and great depth of flavour.

This is a wine with poise and elegance, punching way above its weight!
