2022 Antinori (Castello della Sala), Cervaro Sala Bianco, IGT
Cervaro della Sala was one of the first Italian white wines to have malolactic fermentation and ageing taking place in barriques. The name Cervaro comes from the noble family who owned Castello della Sala during the 14th century: the Monaldeschi della Cervara. A blend of Chardonnay grapes and a small quantity of Grechetto make a wine that can age over time and represents the elegance and complexity of this unique estate. Castello della Sala is the perfect place for growing white varieties.

Cervaro is undeniably one of Italy's finest white wines. The Cervaro vines grow in clay and calcareous based soils, rich in fossil shells, and are well exposed to the rising of the sun with an excellent difference of temperature between day and night. The result is an exceptionally crisp and linear wine, with ample weight, purity and structure to age. The 2022 is outstanding and while critics are yet to taste, it could prove to be the finest yet. Cervaro is consistently a 95/100+ wine across multiple critics and offers a fantastic value alternative to to Burgundy's top 1er & Grand Cru white wines.
