Strathclyde 34 Year Old 1987 Koval Rye Finish – Mission Gold (Murrary McDavid)
Glasgow's Strathclyde distillery is a powerhouse of grain whisky that forms the backbone of many beloved Scottish blends. In a celebration of this sometimes overlooked category of whisky, the team at Murray McDavid have selected casks of Strathclyde that have enjoyed a staggering maturation of three decades, then taken the maturing the whisky and applied an unconventional finish in small rye casks from the Koval distillery for a whole four years! The resulting whisky has all the elegance and grace of an exceptionally old dram, delicately creamy and presenting aged floral and lingering wood notes, with the added spice and body of a rye finish. Just 564 bottles were produced in this small batch release, all bottled without chill-filtration or added colouring.

Balmenach 32 Year Old 1987 – Connoisseurs Choice (Gordon & MacPhail)
Located in Cromdale, Balmenach is possibly one of Scotland's most traditional distilleries, located in the heart of Speyside. Rarely seen as a single malt, Balmenach is commonly used in blends such as Johnnie Walker, but we're often reminded of how fantastic their whisky is by the likes of independent bottlers, Gordon & MacPhail. Notes of stewed apple crumble and autumnal spice lead into dark chocolate and dried tobacco with a lingering finish.
