Ardbeg 14 Year Old Pedro Ximénez Cask Finish (Darkness)
This is the higher ABV bottling of the two 14-year-old Ardbeg's from Darkness' latest series. This wonderful Islay single malt whisky has been finished in a Pedro Ximénez sherry octave cask, imparting those final layers of complexity and a plethora of sherried notes. An octave cask can hold around 50 litres of whisky, meaning there is a greater surface area to volume ratio, thus more interaction between the whisky and the oak. 298 bottles were released.

Ardbeg 25 Year Old
Ardbeg have selected some of their rarest ex-bourbon casks for this 25-year-old release. Filled during the darker days of the distillery's past during the 1990s, this whisky has been aged for a quarter of a century, resulting in a pungent burst of smoked cream, fennel and tropical fruit followed by candied apple, pear and a lingering finish of fudge, peat smoke and aniseed.

Ardbeg haven't cut any corners with their packaging here either; the decorative stopper and collar feature detailed debossing and the box is opened via a push/release mechanism, which is wrapped in a textured fabric secured by a metal cage - symbolic of  the caged, untamed whisky within. The bottle has an opaque silver coating with a stylish matte finish.

Ardbeg 5 Year Old Wee Beastie
Aged for 5 years in both ex-bourbon barrels and Oloroso sherry butts, Wee Beastie is sure to hit the spot of fellow Ardbeg fans around the world. Released in 2020, this is the latest whisky to be added to their core range, which includes the likes of Uigeadail, Corryvreckan and An Oa. Ardbeg Wee Beastie is bottled at 47.4% ABV, expressing the harmony of the bourbon and Oloroso sherry casks wonderfully. Fresh herbal notes with pear, vanilla and honey-glazed ham lead into a rich palate with chocolate, smoked bacon and layers of peat smoke.

Ardbeg Anthology 13 Year Old – The Harpy’s Tale
The first part of a new series exploring experimental maturations created by Dr. Bill Lumsden. In this first instalment, we find a 13 year old expression matured in sweet Sauternes wine casks married with classic Ardbeg that was matured in ex-bourbon casks. A harmony of sweet and smoke, bringing together notes of extra virgin olive oil with aromatic herbal notes of coriander and sage, before waxiness, citrus and carbolic soap peel away to reveal crème brûlée. Moss and treacle are met on a sip, along with aniseed lozenges and sweet balsamic, smoked apricots and eucalyptus oil. Packed with flavour that lingers long after each indulgent sip, and bottled without additional colouring of chill-filtration.

Ardbeg Heavy Vapours
With Ardbeg known for its pungent Islay style, many would be surprised to hear that the lyne arm of the still is fitted with a purifier, designed to recycle the heaviest vapours to create a lighter spirit. It begs the question, what would Ardbeg be like without this purifier? Well, the folks at the distillery have answered: the Heavy Vapours uses distillate that was produced when the famous Ardbeg purifier was disabled, leading to an altogether more intense experience.
Tasting notes by Dr Bill Lumsden
Nose: Intense, pungent and aromatic with hints of sweetness – expect a distinctive farmyard scent drifting along with a crunchy aroma of creosote or tar. A splash of water disturbs the vapours and billows of dark chocolate cream laced with smoked artichoke emerge.
Palate: On the palate, darker flavours and notes arise. A burst of bittersweetness surges with flavours of ashy coal, cardamom, pepp

Ardbeg Scorch
Ardbeg has released yet another exciting limited-edition whisky to celebrate Ardbeg Day 2021. Ardbeg Traigh Bhan 19 Year Old – Batch 3
The third batch of Traigh Bhan from Ardbeg sees the name of newly-appointed distillery manager Colin Gordon on the label. Each cask was discouraged and bottled during lockdown with a skeleton staff of distillery workers, and the aromas of the liquid upon disgorgement were said to be incredible.

Matured for at least 19 years in a combination of American oak and Oloroso sherry casks, the whisky has developed aromas of woodsmoke, sea spray, aniseed and grilled tropical fruit. The palate offers a richness of sappy textures, followed by peat smoke, toffee and almond tart topped with lemon curd.

Ardbeg Uigeadail
Ardbeg Uigeadail (pronounced Oog-a-dal) is a special vatting that marries Ardbeg's traditional deep, smoky notes with luscious, raisin-y tones of old ex-Sherry casks. It's non chill-filtered at high strength, which retains maximum flavour and gives more body and added depth. In 2009, Jim Murray’s Whisky Bible named Ardbeg Uigeadail ‘World Whisky of the Year’ – in praise of its "utter silky brilliance" and "complexity on a level only a handful of distilleries in the world can even dream of reaching."
