2020 Folding Hill, Ballasalla Pinot Noir, Central Otago
Folding Hill is a small family owned wine company that makes premium wines from fruit grown entirely on its own 11 acre, certified organic vineyard in Bendigo Central Otago.
Virtually all viticulture is done by hand and yields are managed to provide optimally ripe fruit that allow our wines to fully express the beautiful site they come from.
They use traditional old world techniques and a “hands off” approach of minimal intervention with their wine making. The wine is made with fully destemmed, but not crushed, fruit that is vinified in small open top fermenters and matured in French oak barriques.
This example shows classic Central Otago flavours of both red and darker fruits, spice and balanced oak.
This Pinot noir is typically a more ‘drink young’ but it also does age well over 3 to 5 years.
Folding Hill Wines really are "Handmade from Central Otago.”
