2022 Gairoird, Rose, Cotes de Provence
Located near the village of Cuers, Château Gairoird is a 45ha certified organic domaine belonging to an old Provençal noble family.
Château Gairoird has established a reputation for its own bottled wines, having been recently awarded “Medailles d’Or” for their excellent rosé wines. (Concours Général Agricole, Paris 2022 & 2023)

The climate is of course, Mediterranean, but the Mistral wind provides a cooling effect on the vines and helps to minimize the risk of mildew developing.
The chalky-clay soil, with the appearance of the large round pebbles, (Galets) is typically Provençal terroir. The estate even has its own “source” –underground stream – so that even when there is no rain for extended periods, the vines can dig down to find the water required for vine health.

Traditional grape varieties are grown, (including Grenache, Cinsault, Syrah, Mourvèdre, Rolle and Tibouren form the backbone of the blend which typically comprises around 10 varieties.
Harvested by night to preserve the grapes’ freshness,, the juice is cool-fermented for 2-3 weeks in stainless steel tanks, then rests on the lees until bottling in January.

An elegant rosé with a classic pale rose-gold hue. Its charming bouquet offers delightful notes of herbs, red fruits, and white pepper, leading to a palate with a refreshing and irresistible acidity. This Provence rosé is well-balanced and pairs wonderfully with various dishes such as crab fritters, tuna tartare, grilled salmon, and linguine with tomato and olive sauce.

2022 Saint Aix, Coteaux d’Aix-en-Provence
A bright, joyous, pale pink colour in the glass. Aeration reveals peach juice, raspberries, and white floral blossom. Fresh stone fruits, raspberries and cranberries lead the way on the palate and balance the fine acid tension. It finishes with a long, dry, mineral line. Serve chilled, as an aperitif or alongside fish, tapas or Asian cuisine.
