Clynelish 23 Year Old 1972 Rare Malts

The new Clynelish was originally built in 1962 to expand the capacity of and, ultimately, replace the legendary Brora distillery. This mighty duo has long captivated enthusiasts of fine Scotch, and this 1972 single cask bottling of Clynelish was distilled just six years into the distillery's existence; the same year that the original Clynelish (later renamed Brora) distillery was repurposed to produce heavily peated spirit to fill in for Caol Ila during her maintenance period. This 1995 release 23 year old Clynelish serves as one of the very first bottlings in the Rare Malts range, a range focusing on Diageo's rarest of whiskies.
