Ben Nevis 10 Year Old 2012 (Parcel 10) – Single Malts Of Scotland (Elixir Distillers)
A rarely seen small batch vatting of Ben Nevis whisky, produced by Elixir Distillers. The distillery is not often seen as a single malt, with most of its production destined for blends overseas; much to the woe of enthusiasts who are conscious of how fantastic Ben Nevis malt is. Five oloroso sherry hogsheads were brought together for this limited release, unifying with the distinctly rich style of Ben Nevis to create notes of dates, chocolate and caramel, with hints of walnut and hazelnuts. A playful palate follows, giving creme caramel, nuts and milk chocolate with a touch of orange rind. Bolstered by a hearty 48% ABV, without chill filtration or colouring.

Ben Nevis 26 Year Old 1996 (Cask 854) – Nickolls & Perks Inaugural Casks
One of three casks of exceptional Scotch whisky, bottled to launch our independent bottling range. These rare bottlings mark the start of an exciting new chapter for Nickolls & Perks, presenting fine casks of spirits specially selected by our team of specialists.

Founded in 1825, for nearly two centuries the Ben Nevis distillery has produced quality whisky with a unique profile. The robust nature of the whisky makes it the perfect ingredient for fine blends, resulting in little of the whisky manifesting as a single malt. This venerable expression is a true rarity.

Few vintages are discussed in whisky the way 1996 is revered for fans of Ben Nevis; casks from this vintage consistently present an oily fruitiness that few distilleries can match. This rare offering is one of the few 1996 vintages remaining, matured for a remarkable 26 full years in a refill hogshead, allowing the natural oils and re-esterification of the spirit to shine boldly. Only 148 bottles.

Ben Nevis 31 Year Old 1991 – Old & Rare Platinum Selection (Hunter Laing)
We're glad to be seeing so many fantastic independent bottlings of Ben Nevis making their way onto the market. This 31-year-old single cask bottling certainly falls into the latter, adding heavy pungently fruity notes that play wonderfully with the beefy notes of classic Ben Nevis. Matured for a full 31 years in a single Oloroso sherry butt, yet still retaining a remarkable 62.1% ABV. One of only 540 bottles.

Ben Nevis 8 Year Old – The Rose & Crown (James Eadie)
In times of tightening one's belt, the kind folks at James Eadie have continued to offer affordable, delectable whiskies. Ben Nevis is a distillery requiring little introduction with whisky enthusiasts; a whisky of notable dunnage and old leather characteristics, an inherently "old" tasting malt. This expression from James Eadie was matured a minimum of 8 years in a mix of first-fill bourbon and traditional refill Oloroso casks. Just three casks were selected for this small batch bottling, with the whisky presenting a classic Ben Nevis profile, heavy and oozing. See our tasting notes section below for a full breakdown. Non-chill filtered and natural colour.
