Singleton of Dufftown Sunray
Aged in American oak caks, Sunray is one of the new no age statement expressions from The Singleton of Dufftown range released in 2014. The other expression which is slightly more intense is the Tailfire. The name of this whisky comes from a type of fly used for fly fidhing. Dont get too worried though, the notes of the whisky are not fishy or anything. Infact they are very soft, honeyed, paired with caramel. Singleton of Dufftown Tailfire
The singleton brand name is shared by four different distilleries within the Diageo group and here it is the Speyside distillery Dufftown we focus on. One of a duo of new releases for 2014 (the other being the Bourbon cask aged Sunray) Tailfire is aged in more ex-European Sherry oak for a richer dried fruit influence to this mellow Speysider.
