2021 Flametree, Chardonnay SRS, Margaret River
Located at the gateway to Western Australia’s Margaret River Wine region, the Flametree Winery takes advantage of the strong maritime influence, which, along with the rich, gravelly loams is ideal for producing high quality fruit and premium wines.

The 2021 SRS Chardonnay combines pure fruit (grapefruit, white peach and dried pear) with delicate savoury notes and a subtle saline character.

Undergoing wild yeast ferment in 40% new French puncheons the wine was then aged for 9 months.

It is drinking well now, but will age for 5 – 10 years.

2020 Flametree, Chardonnay SRS, Margaret River
Established in 2007, Flametree has quickly become renowned for its award-winning Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon wines; the two hero varietals of Margaret River.

The SRS (Sub-regional Series) is a powerhouse of elegant, complex styles which typify the remarkable attributes of each of the unique terroirs within the region.

The 2020 SRS Chardonnay shows lovely fruit together with delicate savoury notes. Fine fruit flavours in line with a cooler vintage, wild barrel ferment and subtle sulphides contribute a delicious savoury oyster shell/saline character on the palate, giving the wine greater complexity and overall purity. This modern style ultimately complements many food flavours, particularly seafood.

After overnight cold storage the fruit was whole bunch pressed into French oak puncheons before undergoing full wild yeast fermentation. The SRS Chardonnay was barrel fermented in 40% new French puncheons and then aged for 9 months.
