Cake and chocolate notes are front and centre on this delicious 10 year old Glen Moray from James Eadie. Rich sticky toffee pudding and a box of chocolates on the nose, with stewed apples and a smattering of cinnamon lurking in the background. This 10 month finish in a refill Oloroso has added a wonderful richness without overpowering the Glen Moray spirit. Bottled at a punchy and flavoursome 57.3% ABV.

Glen Moray 2010 Amarone Cask Finish – Warehouse 1
Part of the Warehouse 1 range from the Glen Moray distillery, featuring experimental maturations that stray from the distillery's house style. In this expression, we find a 2010 distillation that has been finished in ex-Amarone wine casks. A powerful statement of red and dried fruits, giving notes of figs, cinnamon and cherry liqueur, with brown sugar and chocolate amidst a burst of red cherry. Only 1194 bottles were yielded from the five casks used in this expression, all presenting their natural colour, cask strength and no chill-filtration.

Rich in sweetness with nuttiness and spice throughout, this is sure to resonate with both fans of the distillery and of sherried Scotch. An outturn of just 1950 cask-strength bottles, boasting a belting 60% ABV, and all without artificial colouring or chill-filtration.

Glen Moray 21 Year Old Portwood Finish
A stand-out offering from the Glen Moray distillery. Matured for no less than 21 years, including a finishing period in ex-port casks, hence the natural deep auburn hue. A robust nose liberally delivers berry fruits, creamy vanilla and freshly baked gingerbread, and a sip of the inviting whisky brings forth blackcurrant and liquorice, followed by chewy caramel and chilli chocolate. Long-lasting and rich, backed up by a slightly stronger ABV than other core expressions from the distillery.

Glen Moray Cabernet Cask Finish – Elgin Classic
Great value and an unconventional cask, our interest is officially piqued. This well-priced sipper from the Glen Moray distillery enjoyed a finishing period in Cabernet Sauvignon red wine casks, combining with the traditional whisky characters to create something greater than the sum of its parts. Glen Moray describe the profile as:

Nose
Honey, sweet apple jelly, toffee and honeycomb crisp.

Palate
Creamy vanilla, pepper and spice. Velvety dark chocolate and charred oak.

Finish
An initial burst of sweetness fades into the dying embers of burnt oak and intense spice.

Glen Moray Chardonnay Cask Finish – Elgin Classic
Glen Moray are no strangers to a little experimentation every now and then, opting for unconventional casks to understand the effects on their versatile spirit. This Chardonnay cask matured expression was initially matured in ex-bourbon American oak casks before enjoying a second maturation in ex-Chardonnay white wine casks. The result is both intriguing and delicious, with the distillery describing the whisky as:

Nose
Spicy apple and pear, key lime pie and cinnamon sugar.

Palate
Caramelised tropical fruits, hints of freshly ground pepper and sweet vanilla.

Finish
Tropical fruit and nutty vanilla flavours combine to deliver a finish which is both intense and warm.

Glen Moray 13 Year Old 2007 – Thompson Bros. (Nickolls & Perks Exclusive)
A candied 2007 vintage Glen Moray from the Thompson Bros., aged for 13 years in a first fill bourbon barrel and bottled exclusively for Nickolls & Perks. This is a supremely bright and fruity Speyside single malt, with notes of Mr Kipling lemon fancies, golden syrup and almond cake followed by spicy cinnamon rolls, grilled pineapple and lemon drizzle. Only 131 bottles were drawn from the cask at 54.4% ABV.

The label features a play on the 400-year history of glass making in Stourbridge, the home of Nickolls & Perks, with an illustration of a glass-blown pot still by Scottish artist KMG.

Glen Moray 2013 Amontillado Cask Finish – Warehouse 1
Another cracking entry into Glen Moray's Warehouse 1 series, a series showcasing the more experimental casks residing in the Glen Moray warehouses. This 2013 vintage was initially matured in ex-bourbon casks before enjoying a finishing period in Amontillado sherry casks, a dryer style of sherry than the often seen Oloroso, typically imparting a signature nuttiness onto the whisky. In this instance, we find notes of chocolate and earthiness with a touch of leather and tobacco on the nose, with the palate delivering much of the same before hazelnuts and a touch of tannins. A limited release with only 1,248 bottles, all bearing the natural colour and non-chill filtered, and exclusive to the UK.
