Bruichladdich’s Rare Casks series, also known as Old and Rare, features some of the oldest Laddie bottlings available, from three vintages - 1984,1985 and 1986. The Bruichladdich 1985 is a 32 year old whisky drawn from the very last 22 casks of 1985. It was originally matured in third-fill bourbon casks, before the spirit was moved into fresh bourbon for a few years, and then into French Oak for a final twist.

1985 Dom Perignon
RP95
The harvest in 1985 was exceptional in its weather conditions and allowed the grapes to open well and to be picked from 30th September in ideal conditions. On the nose: Intensely floral attack that soon gives way to characteristics of acacia honey and lightly preserved fruits. On the palate: Lots of fullness and vinosity. Characteristics of figs and raisins predominate then give way to notes of undergrowth. Dominique Foulon, October 1991
