2007 Kerpen, Wehlener Sonnenuhr Riesling Kabinett, Mosel

A beautifully poised Kabinett Riesling from one of the Mosel’s venerable producers, Martin Kerpen, and sourced from the legendary Wehlener Sonnenuhr vineyard on steep, slate-rich slopes of the Middle Mosel.

This vintage typically shows a very pale golden colour with alluring aromas and flavours of ripe orchard fruit - think green apple, pear and ripe peach - intertwined with honeyed accents, delicate floral notes. A fine balance of gentle residual sugar and refreshing acidity gives the wine lift and elegance, while age brings complexity with hints of citrus peel and petrol-like nuances.
