2020 Alma das Donas, Almalarga Godello, Ribeira Sacra
Located in Ribeira Sacra, in north-west Spain’s Galicia region the winery’s production is based exclusively on grapes from vineyards on the slopes of the River Sil.
The vines are cultivated by hand on the terraces steep, south/south-west facing slopes.

This wine is made from the Godello varietal – a high quality varietal, indigenous to the region.
In the 1970s, this grape variety almost became extinct, but thanks to the efforts of winemakers in Galicia who recognized its quality and potential, it was rescued. Subsequently, there has been a surge in plantings, and Godello has gained such acclaim that it is now regarded by some as Spain's finest white grape variety.

The nose is dominated by fruity aromas of apple, pear, peach and a touch of citrus.
The wine is balanced and creamy, tempered by a distinct minerality. The length is good, with a well-rounded, elegant finish.

Because of that combination of flavours, Godello wines go really well with shellfish, but the fact that they have more body and more complex characteristics means they also work with stronger flavours like octopus with paprika or anchovies and it’s a great accompaniment to cheeses.

If you enjoy white Burgundies, you’ll like this wine a lot!

2020 Bardos, Ribera del Duero, Romantica
Bodega Bardos located in Quintanilla de Onésimo in Spain’s Ribera del Duero region, this is a characteristically robust red, made principally from Tempranillo grapes with the addition of Cabernet Sauvignon to the blend.
The vineyards are located at an altitude of just under 1000 metres above sea level and the grapes are hand harvested.
The high diurnal range helps to maintain the grapes’ freshness alongside the full-bodied nature of this wine.

The result is a nicely balanced Crianza, with the effect of 14 months’ maturation in used oak adding delicious sweet spices to the rich dark fruit flavours of blackberry, bramble, Morello cherry, with a hint of tobacco and leather.

2020 Bodega Alandes, Gran Cabernet Franc, Mendoza
Run by Karim Mussi, one of the most highly regarded wine makers in Argentina. Everything in this wine comes from real artisanal winemaking and we are very pleased to present wine from here.
Karim believes in 100% Cabernet Franc grapes from the sub region Uco Valley (Mendoza region) in Argentina.
The vine is from sustainable and traditional agriculture with controlled drip irrigation.
As soon as the grapes are harvested the produce goes straight away to the winery. The grapes are selected on a double sorting table. Then they are put into small concrete tanks (10 000 litres each). The fermentation starts with the native yeast and maceration process takes place for two weeks. Finally the wine will aged for 18 months in French oak barrels. Karim Mussi’s wines are becoming increasingly sought-after around the world, so we are honoured to stock his wine.
