Producer Profile
Remi Jeanniard
Remi Jeanniard’s neighbours say that he and his wife are always in the vineyards, even pruning the vines on New Year’s Day! Such care and precision goes into their production – and the result is a portfolio of elegant, well-structured wines.
The estate is just over 7 hectares around Morey-St-Denis, with a large portion of their vines being 50 years old. They also have plantings in Gevrey Chambertin and Chambolle Musigny. They practice sustainable farming, control yields and regularly work the vines to prevent the soil from settling. This intensifies the aroma and richness of the fruit.
In the winery he avoids the use of SO2, and only uses natural yeasts before bottling without fining or filtration. They believe that this preserves the wines delicacy and best expresses the terroir.
