Tasting Notes
Will Gardener 92-94
This is very deep completely black at the centre, quite closed and elegant, inky notes, some black fruits and cedar, this is fat dense and intense, chewy mid-palate, this is hearty, very good austerity combined with charm, really super Duhart, this Chateau has is very stylish, certainly one of the best buys of the vintage for me, puts the Carruades in the shade and even challenges the Lafite on first impression.
Vinous 88-90
(73% cabernet sauvignon and 27% merlot) Saturated ruby-purple. Delicate aromas of blueberry and cedar are complicated by hints of graphite and tobacco. Delicate on the palate as well, with pretty black currant and cedar flavors. This wonderfully balanced midweight offers sneaky concentration and great precision to its classic, cabernet-dominated flavors, not to mention a long, smooth finish.

Tasted ex-chateau and single blind in Southwold. The Duhart Milon 2008 is really turning into a great Pauillac. It has a lovely, intense bouquet with blackberry, undergrowth and a touch of game with well integrated oak. Graphite aromas emerge with time. The palate is well balanced, quite austere with upfront graphite flavours, very classic with good substance on the foursquare, almost severe on the finish that is fresh and lively. One of the few easily identified under blind conditions. Tasted January 2012.

Dark crimson. Very intense, almost burnt, nose. Well-mannered and fully ripe fruit, in stark contrast to the Haut-Médocs and lesser Pauillacs. Very solid and still chewy but satisfying. Very long.
Anticipated maturity: 2016-2030
